Literature reviews & think pieces
In order to add value to the 13 country research studies and to contribute to a broader body of knowledge towards scaling up sustainably, Triple-S assessed several publications in a number of concepts that support a service delivery approach (SDA).
Two important areas where literature reviews were conducted include:
- Aid harmonisation and aid alignment: This document looks in particular at how aid harmonisation and aid alignment has translated to the water sector. This review includes a summary of the analysis and lessons to date and compares experiences with the health and education sectors.
- Service delivery concepts: The literature review on service delivery concepts looks at how service delivery is defined and implemented in other sectors as health, electricity and agriculture with a focus on rural populations, comparing this with the rural water sector.
Triple-S also produces think pieces to spark debate about current situations in the rural water sector, and to essentially provoke change. The first think piece is about aid effectiveness and its relevance for rural water services.
